Dancing on the edge of Perfection

How does Ballet deepen your connection with your body, why is that awareness so crucial?

Ballet teaches you to look at yourself and refine every corners, weather you like or you don’t like it. That becomes habit of taking care of all details, not only your body, how you stand, how you dress up, how you talk… discipline, and elegance.

How does mastering movement and posture translate to feeling empowered in everyday life?

Every challenge you face, you go through it. If you achieve your goal, great. But even if you fail (and most challenges do end in failure!), you must find a solution. Through this, you learn that you can eventually overcome anything and solve any problem.

How do you push through physical exhaustion and mental challenges in such a demanding art form?

You just need to really really Love what you do. Then nothing is painful.

How do you balance the strict discipline of ballet with the need for self-expression and emotional freedom?

Try not to ignore your inner voice and true feelings. Take your own time, even if it feels like you’re behind everyone else or missing out. There is no fast track

How does understanding your body through dance make you feel more empowered as a woman?

Seeing Imperfection, accepting who you are.

What lessons from Ballet do you apply to Motherhood?

Multi tasking skill, coordination, physical strength, organizational skill, and never to give up on anything!

How has motherhood changed your relationship with your body and your dance?

Going through pregnancy and giving birth has definitely changed my respect for my own body. A woman's body is both wondrous and sacred. I listen to myself more and allow myself to indulge when my body needs it. And somehow, it finds a better balance now.

Have you ever struggle with the expectations of being both strong and feminine? How do you navigate this?

I often tried to fit myself in the box of somebody else’s images or visions. Being dancer means also to be constantly criticized and looked up, commented by someone who might have different vision than you. I was scared to be myself. But I realized that is the only way to live, being true to myself and believe in what I believe. We are all unique and different, we are not here to please everybody on the planet.

If you could give one piece of advice to women about embracing both their strength and felinity, what would it be?

A strong core—both physical and mental—fosters independence and the will to better yourself every day.
